Pros: It is powered by AC adapter or three D batteries (although not included) so it can be taken most places. Or maybe in the summer you want to take it out to your patio, you can use it on battery power.
Cons: I did find that one person would like the base to be a little heavier, so that it would be more stable, but I don’t think this will be a problem for most people if you do not stretch the goose neck out to its full length. Keep a little curve in it, so that it is positioned above the base.
